Alex Labbé takes 18th place in Forth Worth, Texas
Scorching heat awaited the drivers
Forth Worth, Texas, June 12, 2021 – The 14th race of the NASCAR Xfinity Series got underway in scorching heat in Forth Worth, Texas this afternoon with the thermometer reading over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The conditions were very difficult for St-Albert driver Alex Labbé, who started the race in 10th place.
“It was a pretty tough day. In addition to the weather, I had to deal with the side effects of my second vaccine dose received this week”, explains the driver of the number 36 Larue/Prolon Controls car. “Let’s just say I wasn’t in the best physical shape, but I’m still glad I stayed the course. “
The DGM Racing driver was aiming for a Top-15 finish at the mile-and-a-half track but had to settle for an 18th place finish, which he went out and got. “The track wasn’t easy, especially because they glued it together for the second group of the day. It’s harder to make passes in those conditions. Also, we had some difficulties in the pits so we had to fight very hard to move up in the standings. “At one point, Labbé was 27th but he was able to take advantage of the restarts to move up a few positions.
The Quebec driver is currently 19th in the driver standings and 22nd in the owner standings. The next stop for the NASCAR Xfinity Series is at Superspeedway in Nashville, Tennesse on June 19, 2021 at 3:30 pm.
About Alex Labbé
Alex Labbé is an active racer in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He is the only Quebec driver to race full time on the circuit. A native of Saint-Albert, Quebec, Alex has had a meteoric rise in motorsports since the beginning of his stock car career. In 2014, he became the youngest ever ACT Series champion. In 2016, he competed in his first full season in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series and in 2017, he became the series champion. In 2018, he advanced to the NASCAR Xfinity Series and earned a spot in the top 20 drivers’ standings. Labbé had his best career season in NASCAR Xfinity in 2020.
