Another 10th place in Darlington for Alex Labbé
A second top-10 finish this season!
Darlington, South Carolina, September 4, 2021 – The Quebec driver definitely has something in common with the Darlington track! For the second time this season, the DGM Racing protégé finished 10th on this intermediate track. It was his second top-10 finish of the season.
The number 36 car, in the colors of GloboCam, Prolon and Workpro tools, a new partner of DGM Racing, started from position 22 because of the result obtained in the last race and the points in the standings. “We knew we had the car to finish among the best and that’s what we accomplished today. I’m very happy with the way we approached this race. The last time we were at Darlington in May, we got our best result ever on an intermediate track. Well, here is a second one”, said Alex Labbé at the end of a more than satisfying day.
The St-Albert driver had to quickly leave the site at the end of the race as he plans to fly to Montmagny to participate in the Duroking 150. This will be Labbé’s last race in Quebec with his Late Model car. This new LMS event will consist of 150 laps, divided into three 50-lap stages. The driver who collects the most points after the three stages wins the prize.
The St-Albert driver is the only Canadian and Quebecer to race on the NASCAR circuit. The DGM Racing team, owned by Mario Gosselin of Beauce, has been competing with the top teams in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for a few years now despite a limited budget.
About Alex Labbé
Alex Labbé is an active racer in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. He is the only Quebec driver to race full time at the track. A native of Saint-Albert, Quebec, Alex has had a meteoric rise in motorsports since the beginning of his stock car career. In 2014, he became the youngest ever ACT Series champion. In 2016, he competed in his first full season in the NASCAR Pinty’s Series and in 2017, he became the series champion. In 2018, he advanced to the NASCAR Xfinity Series and earned a spot in the top 20 drivers’ standings. Labbé had his best career season in NASCAR Xfinity in 2020.
