Dover, Delaware, May 15, 2021 – Quebec driver Alex Labbé finished 19th at Dover International Speedway this afternoon. This is the fourth best result of the season for the DGM Racing protégé. The race was won by Austin Cindric.
The #36 Prolon and Rousseau Métal car started from the 18th position because of Labbé’s excellent result at Darlington. “We had some difficulties with the car and I tried to survive until the end of practice to get to the pits. We made some major changes throughout the race,” explained the driver. “It was a little better on the last restart, we competed with Earnhardt until the end for track position. “
Even though it wasn’t the expected result, the only DGM Racing driver to finish the race was still satisfied, “We know we can have more speed but this 19th position is still good for points in the standings. “
The next race is next Saturday in Austin, Texas on a road course, the first of the season. “I’m looking forward to it because we’re having success on the road courses, we’re aiming for a top-5 finish! “
Alex Labbé is the only Canadian and Quebecer to race on the NASCAR circuit. The DGM Racing team, owned by Beauceron’s Mario Gosselin, has been competing with the top teams in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for several years now despite a limited budget.
